The Homewood Police Department is currently conducting a death investigation near the Izaak Walton Nature Preserve.

“This is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public,” Homewood Police Chief Tom Johnson said. “The investigation is in the early stages at this time.”

He said the Illinois State Police is assisting with the investigation.
