Hart School honor society inducts 43 new members

The James Hart School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society conducted an induction ceremony on Monday, April 13, for 43 new members.

The students worked to fulfill the five pillars of NJHS: scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship.

Superintendent Scott McAlister said the seventh and eighth graders “represent everything that we strive to see in our young people. They’re kind, giving, great students, but I think what makes NJHS a unique organization … is that service component. We always teach our children to be nice to each other and to be good citizens, but to foster the idea of service in young people, I think, is really, really valuable.”

McAlister said this group of students gave more than 800 hours of service in the community.
