- Hold a public hearing on the preliminary plan for a planned unit development for BG Park Centre, a 12-unit townhome development and future commercial development at 2611-2633 Flossmoor Road.
Baby Bloomers. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host story time for children aged birth to 2.5 years old and their caregivers. There will be stories, songs, bubbles and free play in the Rauch Reading Room from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Register here.
Computer Class for Adults: Beginning Computer. Adults are invited to the Helen Wilson Meeting Room at Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., from 10 a.m. to noon for a beginning computers class. This class teaches the absolute basics of computing, defines practical terms, offers practice with using a mouse and keyboarding, and discusses how to navigate the Microsoft Windows interface. Chess Club for All. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host chess club from 4 to 5 p.m. in the meeting room. Practice chess skills or learn the basics of playing the game. Open to all ages.
Youth Mountain Biking Program | Parents Info Session. GoodSpeed Cycles and the National Interscholastic Cycling Association will give kids in grades 5 through 8 the opportunity to learn mountain biking skills. Goodspeed, 2125 W. 183rd St., will host an information session for parents starting at 6:30 p.m. RSVP at the Goodspeed event on Facebook. The program will begin in July.
Teen Movie Club: Mighty Ducks 2. Teens are invited to The Fort in Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. to watch a showing of “Mighty Ducks 2″ (PG). Register here.
H-F High Theater: The Little Mermaid. Homewood-Flossmoor High School theater program will present “The Little Mermaid” at 7 p.m. in the Mall Auditorium, 999 Kedzie Ave. Tickets are sold online. Tickets are $13.60 for adults, $7 for students and $7 for senior citizens. Prices include processing fees.
3D Scanner Demo. Homewood Public Library card holders age 18 and up can come to the Makery, 17917 Dixie Highway, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. to learn how to use a 3D scanner to replace missing board game pieces or knobs for stoves and similar items. This is a demo for learning purposes only. Appointments may be scheduled at the event to scan your own item. There is a $5 materials fee. Register here.
Fertilizer/Herbicide Application on Flossmoor Village Properties. Beary Landscaping, Flossmoor’s landscaping contractor, will be applying a combination of fertilizer and herbicide to the lawns of village-owned properties from Wednesday, April 15, through Friday, April 17. Notification flags will be placed at the properties. Residents should stay off the grass until it is dry.
