D161 Superintendent Search Survey. The Flossmoor School District 161 Board of Education is inviting members of the community to share thoughts about you to complete a survey to assist with our current Superintendent search. The board invites the community to help craft “a leadership profile outlining the professional and personal characteristics required to be successful in the role.” The survey will be open through midnight April 22. Fertilizer/Herbicide Application on Flossmoor Village Properties. Beary Landscaping, Flossmoor’s landscaping contractor, will be applying a combination of fertilizer and herbicide to the lawns of village-owned properties from Wednesday, April 15, through Friday, April 17. Notification flags will be placed at the properties. Residents should stay off the grass until it is dry. Read, Play, & Grow!: A Storytime for Babies and Toddlers. Meet in the Helen Wilson Meeting Room at Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., from 10:30 to 11 a.m. for fun activities that help develop early literacy skills for babies and toddlers. Register here.

Homeschoolers Study Group. Homeschool teens can meet in The Fort at Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, for a study session from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Register here.

Mending with Decorative Stitches. Anyone age 18 and up who has a Homewood Public Library card can stop by the Makery, 17917 Dixie Highway, from 2 to 3 p.m. to learn ways to mend clothing. All the material will be provided. Learn the stitches and leave with a handout you can take home to practice on your own wardrobe. There will be a $5 materials fee. Register here.

Prank Lab. You know what’s better than a practical joke? A Scientific one. Kids age 9 through 12 are invited to The Attic at Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. to step up their practical joke game. Register here.

Homewood District 153 Kindergarten Orientation. A special orientation program for parents and guardians of future Willow School kindergarteners will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the school, 1804 Willow Road in Homewood. The online registration for children starting kindergarten in August will begin the same day, April 15. Anime Hangout. Teen anime fans can meet in the Fort at Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to find some new manga to read, do some anime-themed activities, and watch some anime shows together. Register here.

Teddy Campbell Band – Good Vibe Wednesday. The Copper Still Martini Bar & Speakeasy will host Teddy Campbell to funk it up freestyle starting at 8 p.m. Tickets available here.
