Great day for an egg hunt!

Dozens of kids ages 1 through 10 met at Apollo Park in Homewood for the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District’s annual Lucky Egg Hunt event on Saturday, March 28.

It was difficult for them to stay behind the demarcation tapes with the sun reflecting off the 4,000 eggs spread across a field. Somewhere in that sea of eggs were several with golden tickets that would win a child a special prize.

The temperature was cool, but that didn’t matter as the 10 a.m. start time rolled around and the kids swarmed the field to collect as many eggs as possible.

Afterward, the Easter Bunny took pictures with the participants.
