Family Swim. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club, 2920 W. 183rd St. will host Family Swim Night. Fort Building. Irwin Community Center, 18120 Highland Ave. in Homewood will host a night of designing and building from 6 to 9 p.m. for first through fifth grade students. Sketch out your design and then use cardboard boxes and other supplies to create your own fort. When you’re finished, watch a short movie on the big screen while you hang out in your new fort and enjoy some snacks. Please bring your own pillow and blanket for the short flick. Three Minutes in the Spotlight. Spotlight Performance Academy will host an evening of music starting at 7 p.m. at Beyond Borders Cafe, 1036 Sterling Ave. in Flossmoor. Spotlight performers will show what they’ve been working on.
Saturday, Feb. 28
Homewood Indoor Farmers Market. The market will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Homewood Auditorium, 2010 Chestnut Road. Featured vendors, among the dozens that plan to attend, include Imani Skincare, and Mommy’s Rum Cake.
Izaak Walton General Meeting. The meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. at Izaak Walton Preserve, 1100 Ridge Road, will feature a presentation by Tristan Shaw, the owner of Possibility Place, on native gardens and native plants. Free milkweed seed packets will be available.

Irish Music with Gavin Coyle. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host an hour of Irish music starting at 1 p.m. in the meeting room.
