Gerald Pauling, a member of the Seyfarth Shaw law firm’s executive committee, was recognized as an outstanding lawyer in Forbes magazine’s 2025 America’s Best-in-State Lawyers list and was recently honored at a Forbes ceremony in New York. 

Pauling is a partner at Seyfarth Shaw’s Chicago office specializing in labor and employment law. He is a graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor High School. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his law degree from UCLA, Los Angeles School of Law.

Forbes compiled the list of the top lawyers in all 50 states through “a rigorous multi-stage process that involved researching, evaluating and rating thousands of candidates nationwide.”

Pauling, of Flossmoor, is president of the District 233 school board serving Homewood-Flossmoor High School.
