Fiber Relocation Near Dixie Viaduct. Homewood Public Works announced that in preparation for the upcoming 2026 IDOT Dixie Highway North Viaduct Drainage Project, John Burns Construction has begun relocating communication fiber on the west side of the Dixie Highway viaduct at the intersection with Park Avenue. The communication fiber is currently in conflict with the new proposed storm sewer and must be relocated. The work is scheduled to be finished by the end of this week. In the meantime, motorists might want to find a different route to avoid long delays as Dixie Highway is reduced to one lane during the day.
