Students at James Hart School will present “Seussical Jr.” at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 20 and 21 at the school, 18220 Morgan Ave. in Homewood.

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of Dr. Seuss’s favorite characters spring to life onstage in this musical. The Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called The Whos. Horton must protect The Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers.

Keilani Harris, Zackiya Hatter, Zack Humm, Blaise Kelly, Eleanor Kinne, Rayyan LaWal, Neriah McGee, Caleb Moore, Julian Paredes, Willie Salus, Georgia Stickney, Molly Tracy, Luci Wheat, Charlotte Whitlock, Cianna Wilson, Olivia Zandi.

Portraying The Whos are Sylvia Brackin, Mistura Fasanya, Austin Graham, Ellie Heyman, Braelyn Lockwood, Keionni McElroy, Ross McManus, Sanaya Moore, Lena Posey, Toni Richardson, Rose Smith and Randall Walters.

Portaying the jungle citizens are Trinity Conda, Nyelah Cooper, Cora Donohue, Alison Morales, Lilly Rudan, Kai Moore, Zoe Sims, Ayla Shamonski, Wyatt Sparenburg and Annie VanEtten.

Staging a musical takes a lot of behind-the-scenes help. Serving on crew are eighth graders Noah Benjamin, Shayla Calicut, Owen Cook, Violet Dudik, Nina Haskell, Elizabeth Heyman, Amina Ibrahim, Rowan Kolb, Gabrielle Martin, Bianca Nwachukwu, Hartley Shulman, Thomas Smith, Caliece Townsend, Tillie Webb, Micah Wedderburn, Mia Wintermantle.

Crew members from seventh grade are Lucia Bushong, Aliyah Lawal, Allana Robinson and Eliana Snyder.  Sixth grade crew members are Alex Castellanos, Cecilia Dudik, Emilia Leahy, Lyla Negrette, Tobias Paicley, Addison Wilcox, Caroline Will and Selina Williams.
