Resurrection Mary. Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will host an opportunity to learn about Chicago’s most beloved spirit from 7 to 8 p.m. Who is or was “Resurrection Mary” and what makes the Chicago version of this “Vanishing Hitchhiker” legend so special? Where did the story start? What are the facts? Are people still seeing Mary’s ghost today?
Indoor S’mores and Scares. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host a showing of “Are You Afraid of the Dark” along with snacks and spooky stories. Registration is encouraged but not required.
Thornton Township Trunk or Treat. Local organizations are invited to decorate a trunk, wear costumes and help create a fun event for area kids.
