PSC marks Dia de los Muertos with free events

Prairie State College invites the community to celebrate Día de los Muertos with free events Oct. 20, 21 and 23 that honor Hispanic cultural traditions on the PSC campus at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.

Residents are invited to reserve a table to create and personalize a remembrance to honor loved ones. Tables will be available between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and again from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 20 and 21, in the college’s conference center.

Homewood artist Xicantl will showcase her artwork in the PSC Atrium throughout the week of Oct. 20. Join her for a special discussion at noon on Thursday, Oct. 23, about her creative process and the cultural meaning behind her work.

A concert with Sones de México will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in the PSC Auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m.
