GovState’s Jaguar 5K returns Oct. 26

Governors State University will offer area runners a chance to achieve a personal best or just enjoy the beautiful fall scenery on campus during the annual Jaguar 5K.

This year, organizers have added a one-mile walk, age bracket awards and ceremony, and a free kids dash provided by Lupus Society of Illinois.

There will also be a guided tour of the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park after the race.

Organizer Veronica Blair said this year’s Jaguar5K is a great way to build on momentum and create community.

“Governors State University wants to strengthen our community and make it a more vibrant place for us all. These annual events are becoming a tradition that brings families together and to campus. It’s also a way to promote wellness and reinforce that we are better together,” she said.

Registration will open at 9 a.m. at GovState, 1 University Parkway, University Park. The race will begin at 10 a.m. All participants will receive a T-shirt. Runners will get time results. Register here.
