Security cameras, both outside and inside, will be upgraded at the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club. The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District commissioners agreed Sept. 2 to a $55,518 contract with Inter-Pacific for new equipment and installation.
The building, at 2920 W. 183rd St. in Homewood, has a system but it’s aged and unreliable, said club manager Dan Schaffer. He said after a review of the current camera system he “determined that an upgraded functioning camera system was needed for the safety and serviceability for building users and staff.”
“This is going to be modernized from the get-go,” said H-F Parks Executive Director Doug Boehm. The contract calls for a new system that the club will own.
Inter-Pacific will provide new cables, cameras, storage and access ability in real time for designated team-members both on-site and remotely. Schaffer said the system also allows for additional cameras in the future.
The park district also has cameras at the H-F Ice Arena and Coyote Run Golf Course that will need to be updated.
“This has been a goal to get more cameras at our facilities,” Boehm said.
