Tickets on sale for Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2025-26 season

The Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra has announced its 2025-26 season. The seven performances featuring classics by Beethoven and Vivaldi, movie music from “Star Trek,” “Harry Potter,” “Jurassic Park” and others, an annual holiday performance and a celebration of American tunes to mark the nation’s 250th birthday.

Highlights of the 2025-26 season include opening night’s all-Beethoven program on Oct. 25 with a performance of one of music’s most celebrated and well-known works, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5. 

The evening leads off with his “Prometheus Overture,” as well as one of the world’s best-known and most regularly performed violin concertos, performed by Sphinx artist and Chicago native Adé Williams. 

The Nov. 22 “Night Moves” concert features IPO performing Holst’s “The Planets” featuring visuals by Adrian Wyard. IPO will also feature selections by composer John Williams’ “E.T. Adventures on Earth,” and selections from “Star Trek Through the Years” arranged by Calvin Custer.

On Dec. 20, “IPO Holiday Festival: A Celebration of Voice & Music” will feature a performance by the Chicago Community Chorus. This will be a 3 p.m. performance.

On Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, the IPO concert will feature “Overture in C major” by Fanny Mendelssohn, “Piano Concerto” by Clara Schumann and “Symphony No. 4” by Robert Schumann. Guest performer will be Anastasiya Poff, world-renowned pianist and wife of IPO’s Maestro Stillian Kirov.

To welcome in spring, IPO’s March 14 concert will feature Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” and “Serenade in E Major” by Dvorak.

“Legendary Music of the Movies” on April 18 will have the IPO performing selections from “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” “Jurassic Park,” “Jaws,” “Superman,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” 

The IPO 2025-26 season concludes with its “America Turns 250” concert featuring works by Sousa, Copland, Montgomery and Tower.

Six performances are at Ozinga Chapel on the campus of Trinity Christian College, 6601 W. College Dr. in Palos Heights. The “Night Moves” performance will be at the Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University.

IPO has a special promotion for three performances for $109. IPO also has instituted a $25 ticket price. Tickets are available for purchase at IPOmusic.org or by calling the IPO Box Office at 708-481-7774.
