Gobble Doggs, a family-owned business known for its vegan and turkey-based gourmet hot dogs, held a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday, Aug. 4, at its new location, 2025 Ridge Road, as part of its official arrival in downtown Homewood.
This marked the company’s expansion beyond its Chicago location and food truck, bringing a unique twist on the traditional hot dog to the South Suburbs.
“We’re the only vegan and turkey hot dog in the state of Illinois,” Annah Mitchell, owner of Gobble Doggs, said.

According to the company, Gobble Doggs’ menu features turkey hot dogs with a creative variety of toppings, including a Chicago style dog. Their vegetarian dogs are made with carrots and avocado, plus red onions. Their brand emphasizes fresh ingredients and community engagement.
Their official grand opening celebration will take place this Saturday, Aug. 9 from noon to 2 p.m., which will feature fun giveaways and free samples, as well as a mural unveiling, plus a scholarship award ceremony.
A flyer inside the restaurant reads, “come celebrate with us! Whether you’re craving a turkey or vegan frank, you’re sure to gobble it right up!”
