Anita Moore-Bohannon is the new vice president of student affairs at Prairie State College.
She was selected after a highly competitive search.

Moore-Bohannon brings more than 25 years of experience in education, including two decades in higher education leadership. An Alabama native, she is a first-generation college graduate. A spokesman for PSC said Moore-Bohannon reflects the values and aspirations of the PSC student body.
Moore-Bohannon is a certified mediator and practitioner of nonviolent communication. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Auburn University and a doctorate in community college leadership from Northern Illinois University.
Over her career she worked in early childhood and special education, as well as taking on senior leadership roles at Heartland Community College, Waubonsee Community College, and National Louis University, where she served as vice president for student affairs.
Moore-Bohannon has led efforts in academic support, student engagement, developmental education reform, counseling and wellness services, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
“With her extensive experience in student affairs and her understanding of the challenges facing today’s students, I am confident Dr. Moore-Bohannon will strengthen our efforts to build a more supportive, inclusive, and responsive campus environment,” said PSC President Michael D. Anthony.
“Her background and leadership align well with the mission and values of our institution, and I look forward to the perspective and leadership she will bring as we work to expand access, strengthen support systems, and create an environment where all students feel seen, valued, and supported in reaching their goals,” he said.
