Outgoing District 233 Superintendent Scott Wakeley expressed gratitude for Hester’s five years of dedicated leadership, highlighting her contributions to strengthening H-F’s curriculum, expanding professional development, and positively impacting students.

At the board’s June 17 meeting, Hester thanked Wakely and the board for their leadership and support.

“One thing that I know about the board at H-F is that you’re deeply committed to our children,” she said. “You drive us to be better, and I thank you for that.”

Board members voted to approve Lisa Marie Dallacqua as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. In April, H-F hired her as director of career pathways and workforce development.

Dallacqua previously served as assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction for Township High School District 113 in Highland Park and East Aurora School District 131. Before that, she was principal at Western Avenue School in Flossmoor for two years.

The board approved hiring Asa Gordon to fill the director of career pathways and workforce development position. Gordon joins H-F from East Aurora School District 131, where he served as director of middle and secondary college and career readiness. Gordon has over 25 years of experience in educational programming, college and career readiness, and program development.

In a press release from the district, incoming Superintendent Jennifer Norrell expressed enthusiasm for both appointments, stating: “We are excited to welcome Asa Gordon to H-F and look forward to his contributions in expanding our college and career pathway programs. We are equally excited to welcome Dr. Lisa Marie Dallacqua into her new leadership role.

“These leadership transitions, combined with the strength and expertise of the current administrative staff, position us well to continue advancing our mission of providing exceptional educational opportunities for all students.”

Dallacqua, Gordon and Norrell will begin their new roles at H-F on July 1.
