Chess Club for Kids. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host a chance from 4 to 5 p.m. for children age 7 and up to practice chess skills or learn the basics.
Alice’s Ordinary People Screening. Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will host a screening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. of the film “Alice’s Ordinary People,” about Alice Tregay’s five decades of activism with an introduction and Q&A session led by the director Craig Dudnick. Registration is not required for this program.
