Thornton Township Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at township hall, 333 E. 162nd St., South Holland. The agenda is available here.

Homewood Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road. The agenda is available here. The livestream of the meeting can be viewed here. Use meeting ID 980 4907 6232, passcode 830183.

Highlights:

  • Harwood TOD TIF District. The board will convene and then consider extending until April 8 a public hearing on the proposed TIF district pending resolution of several elements related to the redevelopment plan. 
  • Budget public hearing. The board will hold a public hearing on the 2025-2026 budget. Budget highlights are available here. The budget document is available here.
  • Incentive for Royal Cultures. The board will consider $12,000 in non-TIF business incentives to Royal Cultures for expenses related to expanding the business at 1953-1955 Ridge Road.
  • Maple Tree mortgage release. The board will consider releasing a mortgage taken out on Maple Tree Inn as part of its redevelopment agreement. 
  • Solicit alternative bids. The board will consider soliciting for alternate bids before selling 3003-3025 183rd St. to Rabid Ground, which plans to move Rabid Brewing into the space.

Flossmoor Public Library Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, in the library, 1000 Sterling Ave. The agenda is available here.

Tuesday Tales. Stories, songs and a craft for youngsters from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave.

Make It Take It Tuesday. If you’re a teen who likes to make things, visit the FORT upstairs in the Homewood Public Library from 6 to 7 p.m. and grab supplies for a cool new craft that you can make at the library or at home. Instructions and supplies will be included, but certain tools will not be. Registration is not required.

Homewood Stories. Live storytelling will start at 7:30 p.m. in the FCC Community House, 847 Hutchison Road in Flossmoor. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Bring your own food and beverages. There is a $15 cash fee at the door. No credit cards or checks. Tellers will include Rich Pniewski, 

Margie Rossi, John Hahm, Errol McClendon and Giggy Wagner.
