Auditions for the 23 Miles South Theatre production of The SpongeBob Musical will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Abundant Grace Church, 18200 Dixie Highway in Homewood.
Acting experience is not required to audition. Enter the building from the west side parking area. The theater space is in the lower level.
The roles are limited to persons 18 and younger. Those auditioning should prepare an upbeat song of choice sung to perform a capella, or bring a music source. A cold reading from the script will be provided. There are a few roles that do not require singing. Actors are not charged a fee to participate in the production set for May 30 and 31.
23 Miles South Theatre is one of 10 theater companies producing The SpongeBob Musical after winning Concord Theatricals’ Sing Like a Sponge: The SpongeBob Musical Contest. This is the 25th year for Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants, and 23 Miles South Theatre’s application told of how its participants demonstrate SpongeBob’s endless positivity and spirit in the community.
