‘Eurydice,’ a 21st century version, performed by The Drama Group

“Eurydice,” a comedy, a Greek tragedy, a love story or all three? Discover the myth of Orpheus in a 21st century version of “Eurydice” presented by The Drama Group over two weekends in February.

This play gives the myth of Orpheus a different perspective. It looks at the world through the eyes of Eurydice, his wife. This play by Sarah Ruhl doesn’t quite stick to mythology.

“Eurydice” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14 and 15, and Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 20, 21 and 22. Matinee performances are at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, and on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 22 and 23.

Tickets for the Drama Group performances are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors and military and $19 for students. Tickets can be purchased online at dg.booktix.com or by calling the Drama Group’s box office at 708-755-3444.

Drama Group has partnered with the American Red Cross to raise funds for victims of California’s wildfires. Donations are being accepted at redcross.org or by calling 1-800-733-2767 or texting the word CALWILDFIRES to 90999.

The Drama Group is part of the Southland Arts, an organization of 26 local arts organizations. The Drama Group receives support from the Illinois Arts Council Agency funded through federal funds from the National Endowment for the Arts.
