Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will host an MLK Day of Service event starting at noon. “Drop in any time of the day and help complete projects for our community. Donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted to be donated to a local food pantry.” More info here.

Saturday, Jan. 18

Yoga Storytime. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host a story time plus yoga starting at 11:30 a.m. “We will learn about monthly themes through movement, stories, and songs. No need to bring a mat for kids, but registration is required as space is limited.” More info here.

Classical Music Concert. Talented pre-conservatory student-musicians will give a free concert at 4 p.m. in Flossmoor Community Church, 2218 Hutchison Road, as part of Flossmoor’s MLK Day of Service project. Students will perform works by Bach, Kreisler, Paganini and Tchaikovsky at this fifth annual Classical Music Concert in Flossmoor. While the concert is free, all free-will offerings will help the Center for Food Equity in Medicine continue its work providing nutritious meals for families of people battling life-changing health conditions.
