Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller will be joined by two speakers for the discussion “Intersection of Hate” from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway.
The free program will address the rising tide of hate and extremism, offering insights on combating antisemitism and fostering understanding within communities.
Miller said the program will provide attendees with actionable knowledge to counter hate-based ideologies and create stronger, more inclusive communities. Miller believes that addressing hate and extremism head-on while promoting understanding can inspire change and action in Cook County and reach beyond its boundaries.
Joining Miller are Vlad Khaykin from the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Jeff Schoep of Beyond Barriers. Khaykin has extensive expertise on antisemitism and extremism, including his work advising on the White House strategy to counter antisemitism.
Schoep will recount his transformation from the leader of a neo-Nazi organization to a global advocate for peace and reconciliation.
