H-F considers replacing class rank with distinction awards

The District 233 school board is reviewing a proposal that would eliminate class rank at Homewood-Flossmoor High School and replace it with distinction awards. The change is meant to broaden recognition for outstanding academic work.  If approved, the change would be implemented for the current freshman class that will graduate in 2028.
