Bright Star. The Drama Group’s production of “Bright Star,” a story of love, redemption and resilience, will take audiences to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina where secrets of love lost and found are set to bluegrass music. Performances are at The Drama Group theater at 330 202nd St. in Chicago Heights. Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 12, 13 and 14. Matinees are at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, and Sunday, Dec. 15. Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors and members of the military, and $19 for students. H-F High Orchestra Winter Concert. The concert will start at 7 p.m. in the Mall Auditorium, South Building, 999 Kedzie Ave. in Flossmoor.

South of Chi Holiday Improv Show. Come join South of Chi for an evening of improv comedy, plus food and drinks. Players will create scenes, jokes and characters based on audience suggestions.
