Volunteers at St. John Neumann Church, 17951 Dixie Highway in Homewood, will be conducting a food drive from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7.
This will be a “pop-the-trunk” drive that will not require any direct contact between volunteers and donors. Mary Ellen Brabec said the food drive will benefit the South Regional Office of Catholic Charities in Park Forest. The office serves about 150 families each week.
Donations are greatly appreciated. Brabec suggests staples, such as pasta and pasta sauces, soups, canned vegetables, cereals, rice, dried fruit, canned Vienna sausage or hams, rice sides, potato sides, coffee, condiments, such as ketchup and salad dressing, seasonings, snacks, canned olives, nuts and seeds.
Monetary donations will also be accepted by the volunteers.
