Coyote Run use breaks record, fees going up

Before the first snowfall Nov. 21, Coyote Run Golf Course in Flossmoor was on track to set a new record after it broke a previous record with 39,528 rounds played this golf season. The old record was 39,120 rounds set in 2021.

Tom Denklau, golf course manager, told Homewood-Flossmoor Park District commissioners that he anticipates getting to 40,000 rounds, if the weather is again good for golf. In October,  4,215 rounds was the largest total for an October and brought the season total to 38,660. November had 868 rounds in the first 12 days, which brought total rounds up to 39,528.

The park board agreed Nov. 19 to raise fees. Rates did not increase in 2024. For the 2025 season, the weekday rates will increase by $2 to $32 for golfers walking the course, and $44 for those who take a cart.  The weekend rate will increase by $3 to $57 for walkers and $72 for those who take a cart.

Denklau said Coyote Run’s busiest day for golf is Thursday, followed by weekend days Friday, Saturday and Sunday. During the summer season, Denklau reported “weekend tee time utilization was almost 97% through noon.”
