Chronicle partner: Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery

Dean and Carolyn Armstrong, owners of Flossmoor Station.

The business of Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery has evolved over the past decade from starting out over 28 years ago as one of the first brewpubs in the Chicagoland area, and being selected as “The Best Small Brewpub in America” at the prestigious Great American Beer Festival held in Denver, to the proud community gathering place that the Station is today.

While we certainly take pride in the quality of our flavorful small-batch craft brewed beers and our hearty and delicious Americana Heartland cuisine, what we are especially proud of is the HF community’s adoption of us as a community gathering place. Here, all are welcome and all feel comfortable coming to this magnificently restored Illinois Central Train Station to enjoy a pint or two of our award winning brews and a hearty meal with their friends and neighbors.

Evolving to become part of the fabric of this diverse and welcoming community over the past decade is a matter for which we take great pride, so thank you to the members of our proud HF community for giving us the opportunity to evolve and thrive over the past decade, as we fully realize that we wouldn’t be this unique community gathering place without your loyal support.

We plan on rolling out more varieties of our specialty brews as part of our Brewmaster Specials headed up by our new and very creative brewmaster, Jake LaDuke. And on the cuisine front, our new and superb Chef Chris plans on creating additional unique and creative daily “Chef Specials,” along with maintaining the high standards for our standard and time-tested main menu items, which we plan on adding to in the very near future.

Also, we plan on expanding the special events held in our Brew Caboose Tap Room located within the magnificently restored Illinois Central Caboose (which also now serves soft-served ice cream and potent Cocktail Slushies), along with hosting special events on our Craft Beer Garden.

We advertise in the Chronicle not only because the Chronicle does such a good job covering local news and events, but also because we fully realize we are all in this together.
