Hart students will present ‘Moana Jr.’ musical Nov. 21 and 22

James Hart School students will present the musical “Moana Jr.” at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 21 and 22, at the school, 18220 Morgan Ave. in Homewood.

“Moana Jr.” is based on the Walt Disney animated film that celebrates the rich history of Oceania. It is based on the beliefs and cultures of the people of the Pacific Islands.

Advance ticket sales start Monday, Nov. 11, at the school office. Tickets are $8 per person, kids aged 3 and under are free. There will be a special preview performance for senior citizens at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Guests can enter through the Hart school office.

Moana Jr. is a coming-of-age story that follows Moana, a strong-willed young woman, who sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage. Moana, portrayed by Natalie Popelka, and the legendary demigod Maui, portrayed by Josh Cox, set off on their journey that includes them discovering their bravery and selflessness.

Cast members include CJ Poku, Ryelle Henry, Xoe Ali, Jeremiah Elmore, Willie Salus, Kylee Evans, Callum Fetherling, Amirah Cross, Oliva Zandi, Sofia Garcia, Jennah Cannon, Roy Smith, Eliana Falk and Alex Broche.

Andie Foster, Neriah McGee, Lucie Wheat, Blaise Kelly, Zadie Ber Collins, Kayla Macklin, Georgia Stickney and Cianna Wilson.

Members of the Ocean Ensemble are: Madeline Adams, Paisley Burnson, Sylvia Brackin, Elenore Greep, Nina Haskel, Dezirah Jones, Sienna Jordan, Toni Richardson, Helen Reynolds, Rayne San Juan, Zoe Sims, Molly Tracy and Charlotte Whitlock.

Portraying Villagers are Avery Anderson, Hannah Carney, Cairo Cornett, Savanah Donahue, Bennett Fishman, Libby Heyman, Amina Ibrahim, Eliott Klyn, Keionni McElroy, Bianca Nwachukwe, Chloe Schnieder and Annie VanEtten.

Portraying Ancestors are: Amara Drew, Keilani Harris, Jocelyn Hopkin, Piper Kolb, Ross McManus, Kai Moore, Allison Morales, Cecily Ortega, Lily Rudan, Jayla Taylor and Amilia Wilford-Holley.
