South Suburban PADS annual Pathways Home Fundraiser

South Suburban PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter, or SSPADS) is hosting its 2024 Pathways Home Annual Fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 7 in the Dolphin Lake Clubhouse, 2700 W. 183rd St. in Homewood.

The evening is a ticketed event open to local businesses, the faith community, foundations, volunteers, and individuals with a passion and vision to impact the community to help individuals and families escape homelessness.

The evening will include catered appetizers and refreshments, a brief welcome from presenting sponsor Sutton Ford followed by remarks by the SSPADS Executive Director Doug Kenshol, a testimonial shared by a former SSPADS client Tewonna Williams, and a closing by the SSPADS Board President Gyata Kimmons, founder and CEO of Ridge Strategy Group.

SSPADS is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, interfaith organization that works to prevent and end homelessness in the South Suburbs. Since 1990, SSPADS has provided nearly 700,000 nights of emergency shelter and over 2 million meals to enable over 20,000 people to overcome homelessness. 

In addition, SSPADS provides pathways home by helping over 1,800 people to preserve or access affordable housing homes every year. SSPADS is the proud recipient of the 2018 Bank of America Neighborhood Builders Award, the 2019 National Good Neighbor Award, and a 2024 Lever for Change Award from MacKenzie Scott’s foundation Yield Giving.
