Park district looking for community input Oct. 16

As part of its preparation for a new master plan, the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District invites the community to offer its opinions and ideas for future programs and park operations at a special meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, at The Clubhouse at Dolphin Lake, Governors Highway at 183rd Street.

The park board has hired Upland Design to help guide it as it plans the direction of the park district in future years. The master plan will cover a variety of topics, including parks, facilities, recreation programming, operations and maintenance. The board considers the master plan to be its roadmap for the future.

The master plan will be a 10-year vision plan that will offer information on the park district’s financial sustainability, services and give board members a better understanding of what park users want the park district to provide over the next decade.
