AgeOptions, a leader in serving and advocating for older adults and the Area Agency on Aging for suburban Cook County, is hosting a self-care and resource sharing event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at The Clubhouse at Dolphin Lake in Homewood.
The program is designed for persons 60 and older. AgeOptions representatives will be joined by speakers from Catholic Charities, Metropolitan Family Services, Bloom Township, Bremen Township and Pathlights.
The care fair will inform older and disabled adults about the services available through AgeOptions and its provider partners. The event will feature self-care activity stations, including a juice bar, floral and bracelet bar, chair massages, manicures, a photo booth and interactive games.
Entertainment will be provided around 1:25 p.m. by a Tina Turner impersonator, DJ and line dancing troupe.
There will be a caregiver focused panel starting at 12:10 p.m. moderated by award-winning journalist Monroe Anderdon who is also a caregiver; state Rep. Camille Lilly, D-Chicago, an older adult advocate and caregiver; AgeOptions caregiving program liaison Cristina Diaz; and caregiver Denise Evans.
