Homewood-Flossmoor High School Theatre Department presents the classic children’s play “The Wizard of Oz” that will have audiences enjoying their trip down the yellow brick road at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Sept. 26 and 27, and at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, in the Performing Arts Center.
The magical story comes to life as students take on a range of roles as Dorothy finds herself a long way from Kansas and sets out with her friends to find her way home. Glinda helps her, but the Wicked Witch of the West steps into her path to stop her progress in finding the Wizard of Oz.
Tickets for the production are sold online at https://gofan.co. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and $5 for students ages 6 years old through senior in high school.
Join Dorothy, portrayed by Eleanor O’Shea, and her pals, Lion (Bryce Stewart), Tin Woodman (Flannery Marak), Scarecrow (Robert Wakefield II), and Toto (Kamryn Nelson) as they set out to meet the Wizard of Oz portrayed by Tavis Marsalis. Along the way they meet Glinda the Good
Witch portrayed by Tessa O’Keefe, and Wicked Witch of the West (Karinne Watkins) and Witch of the North (Laila Dyer).

The show is directed by teacher Anne Calderon. Production assistants are Kayla Manzera, Sydney Chambers, Charann Moore and Casey Siengo.
