
Homewood’s annual Fall Fest will return to Martin Avenue from noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21. More than 20 chefs are signed up to compete in one of the biggest Chili Cook-Off competitions Homewood has ever had, according to village officials.
For a suggested donation of $5, anyone can sample chili from the cook-off competitors. The village will provide the proceeds to the Homewood School District PTA.

Festivalgoers will be invited to enjoy food, drinks and sweet treats from several classic Homewood eateries such as Aurelio’s, Twisted Q Barbecue, Chick Fil A and more. Fun treats include Will It Waffle?, TJ Kettle Corn and Nuts, Hello Boba, The Emerald Cup and more.
Alcoholic beverages including mixed drinks and craft beer will be available for purchase from Rabid Brewing, Twisted Q, Family Liquors and more.
Local artisan vendors will be on-site displaying and selling various crafts and unique goods. The main stage will feature musical performances including karaoke with DJ Nate Olson, 1960s R&B doo-wop band The Spaniels Forever and family friendly pop rock from the 1980s through 2000s with 28 Days.
Admission and parking are free for the duration of the event.
The entertainment schedule
- Noon to 3 p.m.: Karaoke with DJ Nate Olson.
- Noon to 7 p.m.: Free face painting.
- Noon to 3 p.m.: Kids craft sponsored by Art Corner.
- 1 to 7 p.m.: Free rock climbing wall.
- 2 to 5 p.m.: Kids craft sponsored by Homewood Science Center.
- 2 to 3 p.m.: Chili Cook-Off judging.
- 3 to 5 p.m.: Open chili tasting.
- 4 to 6 p.m.: The Spaniels.
- 4 to 6 p.m.: Pumpkin patch is open.
- 7 to 9:00 p.m.: 28 Days.
