HEAT EASES— The National Weather Service is predicting the high temperature today will be merely hot, with a high of 86, as opposed to excessively hot, as Tuesday was, with a high of 98 and heat index values over 110 degrees. There is a 40% chance of rain or thunderstorms, mainly after 11 a.m.
LAST HOMEWOOD BLOCK PARTY — The last village block party of the season will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. in Martin Square. Calvin Buado, the official DJ for the Chicago Blackhawks, will bring the music.
