EXCESSIVE HEAT — The National Weather Services has issued an excessive heat warning for today. The heat will create hazardous conditions, especially for elderly people or those with health conditions that increase their sensitivity to heat. The high today is expected to be near 98, with heat index values of between 110 to 115 degrees.
AIR QUALITY ALERT — The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency has issued an air quality alert for today. Officials expect ozone levels today that could be unhealthy for anyone with sensitivity to those conditions. IEPA urges people with sensitivity should consider limiting their activity level or reduce the amount of time outdoors.
