Homewood-Flossmoor High School teachers and instructional staff members are hoping to get a new contract with the District 233 school board “very soon.”
Teacher Dana Noble, who serves as president of the H-F Education Organization, the teachers union, said this will a be three-year contract for the 225 staff members.
There were no negotiations during the summer months.
District 233 Superintendent Scott Wakeley said Tuesday, Aug. 20, “We are anticipating finalizing the agreement very shortly.” He said both sides met last week and again Aug. 20. He believes that the HFEO negotiating team will be meeting with the contract committee to review the District 233 proposal.
Wakeley said once he “gets the OK” from the teachers, he will bring the contract to the school board and the ratification process will begin.
