“Then and Now: Restoration in the Forest Preserves of Cook County” is the topic of the Green Drinks Chicago Southland group meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Blue Island Beer Co., 13357 Old Western Ave., Blue Island.
Guest presenter will be Jessica Becker with the conservation and experiential programming department of the Forest Preserve district.
The program will include ways the forest preserves’ ongoing commitment is helping maintain the ecological health and biodiversity of the region’s ecosystems. Guests will learn about the transformative impact of restoration projects from their inception to present day initiatives.
