BOMB-ITTY OF ERRORS — Homewood-Flossmoor High School summer theater group will perform “Bomb-itty of Errors” at 3 and 7 p.m. today at the school, 999 Kedzie Ave. Buy tickets here for the 3 p.m. show and here for the 7 p.m. show.

MATILDA JR. — Spotlight Performance Academy will present “Matilda Jr. the Musical” at 7 p.m. tonight in Freedom Hall, 410 Lakewood Blvd. in Park Forest. Tickets are available here.

SCULPTURE TOUR — Flossmoor Public Art Commission will host a sculpture tour from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The tour will begin at the southeast corner of Flossmoor Park at the intersection of Flossmoor Road and Brassie Avenue by the new trio of sculptures and will end in Leavitt Park near Jason Verbeek’s “Land Jacks.” 

BBQ FOR THE TROOPS — Chevrolet of Homewood, 18033 Halsted St., will host its 11th annual BBQ for the Troops to raise money for the USO starting at 11 a.m. Saturday. All branches of the military will be present with support from the local businesses, along with a face painting and a bouncy house.

BASICS OF METAL DETECTING — 
Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will host a session on the basics of metal detecting in the Helen Wilson Meeting Room from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday A metal detector will be coming soon to the Library of Things so patrons can check it out to give it a try. Members of the Illinois Metal Detecting Association will be available to answer questions.

HOMEWOOD COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE A number of homes in Homewood will host garage sales from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Check the Facebook page for more details.

KIDS FEST — The Forest Preserves of Cook County will host a day of fun for kids and families including nature exploration, crafts, archery and canoeing at Wampum Lake on Thornton-Lansing Road east of Thornton.

CONSERVATORY ANNIVERSARY — The Conservatory Vintage & Vinyl in downtown Flossmoor will continue the celebration of its fifth anniversary on Saturday with a record sale and DJs. The store is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1042 Sterling Ave.

HOMEWOOD FARMERS MARKET — Fresh produce, artisan foods, handcrafted personal care item vendors plus live music will all be available on Martin Square between Ridge Road and Chestnut Road from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

BARB AND DAN’S ROAD RIDE — Weekly bike ride start at 8 a.m. Saturday from GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. There are two groups. One is a no-one-gets-dropped group that follows a 20-mile route. Another group goes on a longer ride. Helmets required. Lights encouraged. Riders of all experience levels are welcome.

OFF-LEASH BIKE RIDE — A nine-mile ride every Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. at GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. The route includes Butterfield Creek bike path, past Rover’s Run and through Izaak Walton Preserve. No registration. Donuts upon return.

GARDEN WALK — The 12th annual Southland Community Garden Walk sponsored by the National Council of Jewish Women South Cook Section will offer a chance to see a number of beautiful gardens in Flossmoor and one in Homewood from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Advance tickets for the walk can be purchased at Art 4 Soul, 18135 Harwood Ave.; Ebel’s Ace Hardware, 18410 Governors Highway; and Gypsy Fix, 1056 Sterling Ave. On Sunday, tickets can be purchased at Goldberg Park, 3301 Flossmoor Road.
