MARTIN SQUARE BLOCK PARTY — The first village block party goes from 6 to 10 p.m. on Martin Square between Ridge Road and Chestnut Road in downtown Homewood. Have fun with All Sing Karaoke with DJ Nate Olson. Twisted Q will be selling food and drinks. There will be a few artisan vendors and activities for kids.

COMMUNITY BAND CONCERT — The first of two summer concerts will start at 7 p.m. in the Irwin Park bandshell, 18120 Highland Ave. in Homewood. Bob Hindsley will be recognized as conductor emeritus of the band in recognition of his 28 years of service.

FLOSSMOOR HISTORY FUNDRAISER — The Foundation for the Preservation of Flossmoor History will hold a fundraising event starting with tours from 5 to 6 p.m. of the organization’s home in the historic Wagner Building at 2709 Flossmoor Road. Following will be a reception and fundraising event from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Flossmoor Station, 1035 Sterling Ave. The organization’s goal is to raise funds to renovate 2709 Flossmoor Road into a multifaceted civic space.
