TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME — Flossmoor will celebrate the village’s 100th anniversary with a trio of baseball games at Bronco Field in Flossmoor Park, a car show and ending with a drone show at dusk, the first of its kind in the Southland. The third ballgame will be an old-time contest featuring the Deep River Grinders vs. the Flossmoor Whistlestoppers. The games will be called by Flossmoor’s Yellow Jackets, famous for announcing at the Hidden Gem Half Marathon finish line. The event will close with cupcakes and the largest singing of “Happy Birthday” to Flossmoor in its history, followed by the drone show. The event will get under way at 4:30 p.m.
FLORAL ARRANGEMENT CLASS — The Wandering Wildflower will offer a floral arrangement class at Thornton Distilling Co. at 6:30 p.m. for beginners or anyone who wants to refresh their skills. The cost is $75, which includes florals, floral clippers, vase and design instructions. Click here to register.
FLOSSMOOR PLAN COMMISSION — The commission will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at village hall, 2800 Flossmoor Road. Find the agenda here. The commission will continue a public hearing on a request for a special use permit for a sport court at 808 Argyle Ave. and conduct a public hearing on a request for an amendment to a special use permit for an addition to Heather Hill School.
