BUBBLES WITH BECKY — Discovery Preschool will host a pop-up bubble play session for kids age 2 to 5 from noon to 12:45 p.m. on the Irwin Center band shell, 18120 Highland Ave. Meet Ms. Becky on the Irwin Community Center band shell and enjoy whimsical bubble play. Guided tours of Discovery Preschool will be available after activities are completed. The event is free. Click here to register.

SPLASH PAD ADVENTURES — Discovery Preschool will host Splash Pad Adventures at Millennium Park, 18600 Harwood Ave., from noon to 1 p.m. According to the district: “This lunch hour program is designed to bring families of early childhood students together! Let your little ones cool off and enjoy the refreshing fun of the Splash Pad while you mingle with other parents. Gain valuable insight into the Discovery Preschool program held at Irwin Community Center.” For ages 2 to 5, free to district residents, $5 for non-residents. Click here to register.

CHOO-CHOO RIDE — The weekly four- to five-mile bike ride through Homewood and Flossmoor neighborhoods returns. Riders will meet at 6 p.m. at GoodSpeed Cycles, 2125 183rd St. The ride starts at 6:30 p.m. It continues Tuesdays weekly at the same place and time through Labor Day.

H-F DISTRICT 233 SCHOOL BOARD — Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, in the south building, 999 Kedzie Ave. Find the agenda here.


H-F PARK DISTRICT BOARD — The Efficiency Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, in the Goldberg Administration Center, 3301 Flossmoor Road, followed by the regular Board of Commissioners meeting at 7 p.m. in the same location. The board will consider whether to approve a credit card service charge of 3% for purchases paid by card at Wiley’s Grill and whether to approve hiring a consultant to complete the full phase master plan for the district.

BREMEN TOWNSHIP BOARD — Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at 15350 S. Oak Park Avenue, Oak Forest. No agenda has been posted on the township website.

Trustees will meet, probably at 6 p.m. (specific times sometimes vary and meetings often start later than published times) Tuesday, June 18, in township hall,  333 E 162nd St., South Holland. Find the agenda here.

FLOSSMOOR GREEN COMMISSION — The regular meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, has been cancelled. Instead, commission members will walk the Juneteenth parade route between Parker Junior High and Western Avenue School to pick up litter. The parade is set to step off at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

HOMEWOOD VETERANS COMMITTEE — The committee will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, in village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road. No agenda was available on the village website Sunday morning.
