Members of the James Hart School Track Team walked away with medals at the Illinois Elementary School Association’s 2024 State Track and Field Meet, Class 4A in East Peoria on May 17 and 18.
Hart School in Homewood qualified for state after placing in the sectional meet where the eighth grade boys took second overall and then won sixth place overall at state competition. James Hart was represented at state competition by 10 boys and two girls.
Hart’s Seth Harris was the first place state winner in the 110-meter hurdles in the eighth grade class.


The team of Zen Cambric, Jackson Wingba, JaiShaun High, Seth Harris and alternate member Kelston Stewart brought home the second place state honor in the 4×200 relay in the eighth grade class.
Jackson Wingba also won a fifth place honor in the 400-meter dash.
In the girls competition, Londynn Rogers won second place in the shot put in the seventh grade class.
The teams are coached by teacher Virginia Donahue.
