Flossmoor solves problem that interrupted water service late Tuesday

Flossmoor officials report that a problem with a computer control system at the water pumping station malfunctioned late Tuesday, June 11, interrupting the flow of water to customers.

The village announced Wednesday that the problem was fixed and steps were being taken to prevent a recurrence.

In an email message, officials said, “The village has already identified an additional alert system for public works staff, providing another layer of protection to the system. Additionally, the computer control system is scheduled for replacement next year, and the engineering of the project has already begun.”

Officials thanked residents who reported the problem to the non-emergency number at 708-957-4500 and urged residents to continue to use that number any time they have problems to report.
