HABITAT TREES — Green Thumb Saturdays speaker from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Homewood village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road, will be arborist Karl Persons, who will be discussing the importance of habitat trees for ecosystem and wildlife.

FELINE FIESTA — The South Suburban Humane Society staff will introduce cats and talk about their behaviors and how to care for them from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., to celebrate Adopt a Shelter Cat Month.

HOMEWOOD FARMERS MARKET — Fresh produce, artisan foods, handcrafted personal care item vendors plus live music will all be available on Martin Square between Ridge Road and Chestnut Road from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Liz Smith will lead a yoga for kids class from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. Open to kids of all ages, but children should be old enough to follow general directions and young enough to be willing to play games. No mats are needed. Serendipity Yoga will provide all materials.

BARB AND DAN’S ROAD RIDE — Weekly bike ride start at 8 a.m. Saturday from GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. There are two groups. One is a no-one-gets-dropped group that follows a 20-mile route. Another group goes on a longer ride. Helmets required. Lights encouraged. Riders of all experience levels are welcome.

OFF-LEASH BIKE RIDE — A nine-mile ride every Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. at GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. The route includes Butterfield Creek bike path, past Rover’s Run and through Izaak Walton Preserve. No registration. Donuts upon return.

SUMMER READING BLOCK PARTY — Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, hosts a fun start to summer reading. Play games, create art, dance from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

‘LITTLE MISS FIRECRACKER’ — The Drama Group presents this charming and irreverent comedy at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Milord Studio, 330 202nd Street in Chicago Heights. Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for senior citizens and members of the military, and $19 for students. Tickets can be purchased online at dg.booktix.com or tickets can be purchased through the box office at 708-755-3444.

KARAOKE NIGHT — St. Veronica Kwanzaa Ministry will hold a fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at 1101 Douglas Ave. in Flossmoor. Tickets are $10, adults only.
