HOMEWOOD APPEARANCE COMMISSION— The commission will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 6, in village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road. Find the agenda here. The commission will consider proposed repairs to the porch and details at the front of 18101 Martin Ave., known as the Gottschalk House. Because the house is locally designated as historic, changes are subject to greater scrutiny than changes to more recent buildings.

AMPLIFY QUEER JOY — Chicago Playback Theatre Ensemble brings a fun blend of storytelling and theater celebrating true stories of queer joy offered up from the audience to Flossmoor Public Library from 7 to 8:30 p.m. During this performance the audience will be invited to tell stories from their lives, then the stories will be “played back” by the actors using improv and music. Personal sharing is encouraged and entirely voluntary. Feel free to tell a story or to enjoy the stories of others. Children under 9 years old must have an adult caregiver stay with them at the program.
