Lions Pool opens Saturday

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District’s Lions Club Pool and wading pool officially open at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1. The pool will be open through Aug. 11.

The pool, at 1041 Ridge Road in Homewood, will be open seven days a week. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The water slide closes at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Lap swim times for persons 16 and older are 9 to 11 a.m. and 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Several special events are planned: Pirate Day on June 21, Member Appreciation Night on July 19 and Teen Mixer on Aug. 2.

Pool memberships are $60 for residents, and $85 for nonresidents. For swimmers without a membership, the daily rate is $10 for residents and $15 for nonresidents. The lap swim is free to members, or $4 per day.

Swim lessons are offered, and the pool is available for parties and rentals. Details are at hfparks.com or 708-957-0300.
