BIKE SAFETY — May is National Bike Safety Month and Homewood police posted a reminder that motorists should slow down when they see cyclists on the road. “Bicyclists are most often killed by drivers who strike them with the front of their vehicle at high speeds. Avoid tragedy: Slow down, drive sober and don’t drive distracted.”

COMMEMORATIVE BRICKS FOR VETERANS — The Flossmoor Veterans Memorial is selling commemorative bricks to honor veterans to help fund maintenance of the Wall of Honor memorial to be built adjacent to Flossmoor Park. Bricks will be installed and maintained in the Wall of Honor donor plaza as a permanent way to honor and remember a loved one.  Bricks are available for a $125 donation and can be reserved online.
