You Matter 2 announces summer program for middle school students

You Matter 2 announced last week the return of its summer program, G.A.M.E. Changers. The program is designed exclusively for middle school students entering sixth to eighth grades.

G.A.M.E. Changers stands for Gaining Authentic, Meaningful Experiences and offers a platform for young individuals to learn, grow, and have fun during the summer break.

G.A.M.E. Changers is a comprehensive summer program aimed at providing enriching activities, educational workshops, and exciting field trips for participants, according to You Matter 2 founder and CEO Destiny Watson.

The program offers an immersive experience that fosters personal growth, social-emotional well-being, and teamwork skills through a diverse range of activities spanning team building, safety, community engagement, STEM, culinary arts, wellness, fitness, arts and culture.

“We are thrilled to bring back G.A.M.E. Changers for another exciting summer,” Watson said. “Our aim with this program is to provide middle school students with a supportive and stimulating environment where they can explore new interests, develop essential skills, and build lasting friendships. We believe that every young person has the potential to be a game-changer in their own right, and G.A.M.E. Changers is here to help them realize that potential.”

The summer 2024 edition of G.A.M.E. Changers will feature a lineup of weekly themes, including Team Building, Safety & Community Engagement, STEM, Culinary Arts, Wellness & Fitness, Arts & Culture, and Fun Week. Each week will include interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and exciting field trips to local attractions such as Iron Oaks, Flossmoor Fire Department, Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago White Sox Game, iFLY Indoor Skydiving, and Deep River Water Park.

Registration for G.A.M.E. Changers 2024 is now open, and parents are encouraged to sign up their middle school students. Weekly registration options are available for those unable to commit to the full seven weeks.
