HOMEWOOD DOWNTOWN MASTER PLAN  Homewood Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road. Find the agenda here. The commission will review the completed Downtown Transit-Oriented Development Master Plan, which has been in development over the past year. The commission will also consider a request to resubdivide the former Brunswick Zone/Big Lots property at 3043-3055 183rd St. in preparation for redevelopment.

INTERNATIONAL TEA: INCREDIBLE INDIA — Prairie State College will host an international tea from 12:30 – 2 p.m. in Barnes & Noble College Auditorium, 202 S. Halsted St. The event will include cultural demonstrations, including Indian classical dance and sample Indian cuisine. Guest speakers will be Aparna Palakodeti and Johnson Thomas. COUNTY ROADWORK IN HOMEWOOD — Homewood announced that Cook County Department of Transportation will be installing fiber optic cable during April on Ashland Avenue from 175th Street to Cedar Road, on Cedar to Harwood Avenue, then on Dixie Highway under the viaduct and north to 175th Street.

POLICE FIGHT DISTRACTED DRIVING — The Homewood Police Department posted on its Facebook page that April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month and the department will be increasing enforcement aimed at distracted drivers.
